Meeting with Gary Mitchell, Federation of City Farms and Community Gardens

Today I met with Gary Mitchell to find out about his new role as Mid Wales Development Officer for FCFCG, having met him previously in his role at Cwm Harry Land Trust. Gary is keen to make contact with groups interested in setting up community gardens, community allotments or orchards and has a lot of advice and support to offer. To find out more about the organisation, visit http://www.farmgarden.org.uk/
Gary and I were interested to find that our roles overlap in many ways, although Gary covers a wider area across the central belt of Wales, and we are looking forward to working closely together.
FCFCG can offer travel bursaries for groups to visit other groups to share expertise and experiences. Keep Wales Tidy can offer small grants (up to £300) to community groups who need tools or materials for environmental projects, and can also offer free public liability insurance to constituted community groups doing environmental work.
Gary can be contacted on gary@farmgarden.org.uk or by phone on 07866 802737
My contact details are sue.newham@keepwalestidy.org or 07766 757145
