Free "Local Food Lunch" for community gardeners at Cwm Harry, Newtown

Here is an invitation from the Cwm Harry Community Garden crew:
21st December, 12 midday at The Cwm Harry building, Unit H Vastre estate, Newtown
A chance for us to offer a big thanks to all who have been involved in the Cwm Harry community garden thus far and an invite for any folk interested in joining us.
The shortest day of the year falls on a Wednesday this year and it feels like the perfect time to be celebrating the achievements of 2011 as well as making plans for the coming growing season. We would like to extend an invite to all our micro-allotment holders as well as volunteers both current and prospective to come along for a FREE LUNCH at Cwm Harry from 12 midday on the 21st Dec. We
will provide a hot soup, fresh bread and local cheese and salad, please feel free to bring food to share to add to our selection if you so wish.
Anyone with an interest in growing food or any aspect of gardening, allotment keeping, community growing etc is welcome and we encourage all to attend.
We have big plans for the coming year and would like to create the opportunity for people to share ideas and develop new ones for community growing in the Newtown area in the coming year.
We plan to start a full volunteer programme from the first week in February 2012, offering a structured training session each week, giving simple practical advice on what to do each week during the key growing season. February might seem early in the year to be thinking of such things, but anyone who is a keen gardener will tell you that making an early start to planning, ordering seeds and getting them to germinate is crucial for success later in the year.
We also hope to plan a calendar of events seed swapping in Feb, Seedling swapping in May as well as much more. Hope you can make it.
Emma and Steve and the Cwm Harry gardening team.
