Following a very successful public meeting at Machinations, Llanbrynmair, yesterday, a new footpaths and bridleways group has been launched. Harry Chandler was elected as Chairman, Steve Jagger as Secretary and Alison Williamson as Treasurer. Michael Mosse, Vivien Clifton-Jones and Esther Fox also joined the committee.
The meeting was attended by two Powys County Council footpaths officers, who were very pleased to see the group forming and agreed to work with volunteers on larger, more complex projects.
The new group has two Keep Wales Tidy Litter Champions as committee members and another person at the meeting showed an interest in signing up as a Litter Champion.
The group will be applying for KWT group insurance and may also follow that with a grant application for tools and safety equipment.
The first working party is at 9.45pm on 14th December, where members will be removing wire partly embedded in a local footpath in Bontdolgadfan. Please contact Michael Mosse, the organiser of this event, on email@example.com , if you are interested in taking part. The meeting point is Bontdolgadfan crossroads at 9.45am. Wear stout walking boots and dress appropriately for the weather.
